Dad Brain Dump: Sports Takes, Mind Games, and Car Dreams

Anyone know why basketball players can't go on vacation? ….Because they aren't allowed to travel!

The Warriors are in, love to see it! Any of the dads out there watch "The Faculty?" With Emmanuel Acho, LeSean (Shady) McCoy, James Jones and usually Chase Daniel, but sometimes they will have a guest host in his spot. I love watching these fellas talk sports, I will say that I don't always agree with their individual takes. However, they generally make good points and seem to keep an open mind when it comes to the takes of their counterparts.

I talked about struggling with "imposter syndrome" and it's been something that I've struggled with my whole life. I'm not sure if it was because I was the first person in my family to go to college, or if it was because I was always the youngest person in classes or on sports teams. Eventually, once I got out of my own head….I realized that most people are in their own heads and are battling with figuring out their own shit. I've talked my wife off plenty of (metaphorical) ledges, due to her own case of "imposter syndrome." She is much more talented and smarter than I ever will be. But I've realized that a good support system is all we need to break ourselves out of the "imposter syndrome" jail. It's amazing what talking it out logically can do for people. If anyone ever has questions, happy to help talk you through it. It's something I really enjoy.

Anyone here a car guy? What are we into? Classics? American Muscle? Exotics? I don't really discriminate, I love cars. That's probably since my dad was a car guy, so growing up I was always around his newest project. It was awesome because he had a little bit of everything. Classic..yep, he had a '67 Chevelle, import….worked on that too, he had a 3000GT VR4. I would love to get myself a project car, I just don't have the time or space for it currently. I would also really love to get a sim, I want to learn to drift, but also to be able to drive some of the iconic tracks around the world, while learning to really control a car at high speeds without a ton of risks sounds fun.

I watch a lot of automotive influencers on YouTube and I love seeing the exotics, and this might be a hot take, but I'm really not a huge fan of Lamborghinis. I feel like it's what everyone wants, but personally I would take a Ferrari all day over a Lambo. Maybe the Lambo is easier to modify and that's why people love them? Maybe one day I'll find out, but I'm definitely not there yet today.
